Hebrews 12:1-2 New Living Translation

¹ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. ² We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the

life

Each and every one of us is guided by something. Whether we realize it or not, we all have a kind of compass—a quiet force that shapes our decisions, priorities, and the direction we take in life. Deep in every human heart is a longing for something bigger than us. We chase purpose, fulfillment, peace, and truth. And whatever we trust most eventually becomes the compass that directs our lives. The question we all face is this: Is the light we’re following truly leading us where we were meant to go? For me, I’ve come to believe that the only light strong enough to guide a life is the light of Christ. When everything else fades or fails, His truth remains steady. When Jesus becomes our compass, we’re no longer wandering—we’re being led.
