OUR

STORY

In the United States, there are approximately 300,000 babies born prematurely each year — and our baby was 1 of those 300,000. When I became pregnant, I experienced no complications for the first 27 weeks (other than the normal morning sickness). At 27 weeks, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia, which is a condition that affects over 200,000 pregnant women per year. I was placed on complete bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy and monitored weekly through biophysical scans, which are similar to the 20-week anatomy scan.
